2 of My Most UNIQUE Book Opinions

Hi! I'm Lara (as you know..)

Today, I'll be sharing 2 of my most unique (and maybe controversial) book opinions. My criteria for a "good" book:

1. Plot

2. Character

3. Writing Style

4. Setting

I've been trying to keep things short lately, so here goes nothing!

1. The "Percy Jackson" series isn't as great as it seems.

Percy Jackson was written by Rick Riordan.

This is the illustrated edition that I own.

Don't get me wrong; it's a good series. It's definitely worth a read. It's just... I don't know how to explain this. When I like a book, I can read it over and over again and just appreciate it, even when I know what happens. I didn't want to do that with Percy Jackson; it wasn't good enough. Seems like everyone I know LOVED this series, whereas I only LIKED it. (Ironically, I liked it enough at the time to have the hardcover illustrated colour copy edition. Anyone want to borrow?)

2. The Perks of Being a Wallflower book is decent, but the movie is better.

This novel was written by Stephen Chbosky.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is very unique, very nicely written, very sad. But the movie... The movie is one of my favourites. It deals with several heavy themes that weren't as prominent in the novel. The film makes it even more emotional and thought-provoking, which I personally liked. Besides, Emma Watson is in it.
